Ammo Williams and Patrice Volny make weight, Edgar Berlanga comes in over

Author:

Austin “Ammo” Williams and Patrice Volny both made weight ahead of their 160lbs clash atop a Matchroom card streaming on DAZN from the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida. Williams, 17-1 (12 KOs), came in level with the middleweight threshold at 160lbs, while Volny, 19-1 (13 KOs) weighed 159.4lbs.

Williams suffered his first loss two fights ago, an 11th-round stoppage at the hands of Hamzah Sheeraz. He stopped Gian Garrido in five rounds in November. Volny has won his last three fights inside the distance.

Edgar Berlanga, also on the card and returning for the first time since his wide unanimous decision loss to Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, overshot the super middleweight limit by more than a pound and a half. Berlanga rehydrated mightily ahead of his fight with Alvarez, entering the ring as a virtual cruiserweight.
