Melania Trump reportedly wrote a personal letter for Putin, handed by Donald during the Alaska Summit

In a unique diplomatic gesture, First Lady Melania Trump authored a personal letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, which her husband, President Donald Trump, hand-delivered during their high-stakes summit in Anchorage, Alaska.

The letter, which was shared on the First Lady’s Instagram account on Saturday, August 16, and also obtained by Fox News Digital, focuses on the humanitarian toll of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Instead of a direct political appeal, Melania Trump’s message is a plea to “protect the innocence” of the children impacted by the war. She writes, “In protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than serve Russia alone — you serve humanity itself.”

The letter, which was written on White House stationery, goes on to urge Putin to restore the “melodic laughter” of children, a move she says he can achieve with “a stroke of a pen today.” She concludes the letter with the powerful phrase, “It is time.”

The summit between President Trump and President Putin took place on Friday, August 15, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. While both leaders described the meeting as “productive,” it concluded without a concrete agreement to end the war. President Trump noted, “There’s no deal until there’s a deal,” but expressed optimism about future progress.
