Coldplay “Kiss Cam” Fallout: Executive Steps Down as “Mistress” Revealed to Be Heiress

The aftermath of the Coldplay kiss cam scandal continues to unfold as internet sleuths identified the implicated couple as tech CEO Andy Byron and his Human Resources chief Kristin Cabot. It has now come to light that Cabot recently secured a $1.6 million mortgage on a property with her affluent husband, adding another layer to the controversy.

The incident, which gained viral traction at a Coldplay concert, showed a couple seemingly caught in an intimate moment on the big screen, desperately attempting to conceal their faces. Online detectives swiftly identified them as Andy Byron, CEO of tech company Astronomer, and its Head of Human Resources, Kristin Cabot—both of whom are married to other individuals.

As the camera zoomed in, Mr. Byron can be seen quickly moving out of sight, while Ms. Cabot covers her face and turns away.

Their reaction prompted Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin to quip that they were either “having an affair or just very shy.”

In the fallout, Mr. Byron has stepped down from his role as CEO, a position he had held since July 2023.

It has also been revealed that his alleged “mistress,” Ms. Cabot, is married to the sixth-generation heir to the Privateer Rum fortune, as reported by the Mirror.

The couple purchased a $2.2 million home on the New Hampshire coast in March, financed with a mortgage.

According to The US Sun, they secured a loan with Morgan Stanley, and both their names are on the mortgage—a detail that could further complicate matters should the couple decide to separate. They may face the difficult decision of selling the property or having one of them refinance and assume the mortgage.

The four-bedroom beachfront property is described online as a “gem” that requires restoration to regain its former splendor. This marks the second residence the pair owns in the town of Rye.

Andrew Cabot’s ancestry spans 10 generations in New England, with his biography noting that his forefather, “the original Andrew Cabot,” served as a “merchant, rum distiller and successful American privateer during the American Revolution.”

The dynasty is believed to have amassed its wealth through “carbon black“—a soot component used in automobile tires—though their business empire also encompassed chemicals, gas, and various other sectors, including rum production.

Neither Byron nor Cabot has been spotted since the incident. The former Astronomer CEO has also maintained a low profile alongside his spouse, Megan, who has reportedly departed their shared residence in Northborough, Massachusetts.

Megan has remained silent regarding her husband’s behavior, although she has made several modifications to her social media profiles in recent days.

The mother-of-two has reverted to her birth name of Kerrigan on Facebook and removed numerous family photographs featuring Mr. Byron from her timeline.
