During emotional testimony on Thursday, singer Cassie Ventura revealed disturbing details about her past relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs—sharing that she continued participating in what were described as “freak-offs,” or orchestrated sexual encounters, even while she was on a break from Diddy and dating rapper Kid Cudi.
Cassie testified that these alleged encounters in 2011 felt less like personal choices and more like obligations—something she viewed as part of her “role” rather than a consensual relationship. At the time, she said she wasn’t even sure if Diddy considered them officially broken up.
To protect herself and avoid triggering what she described as Diddy’s violent behavior, Cassie said she used a burner phone to keep her relationship with Kid Cudi hidden. But according to her, Diddy eventually found out—allegedly discovering messages on her phone during one of these encounters.
What followed, she testified, were threats of violence. Cassie claimed Diddy said he would blow up Kid Cudi’s car—and that he wanted Cudi’s friends to witness the explosion. That claim echoed an allegation from her 2023 civil lawsuit, which stated that Cudi’s car was indeed blown up in his driveway, a story reportedly covered by the New York Times.
Adding another layer to the story, Cassie said Diddy was actually the one who introduced her to Kid Cudi in 2011, initially for a potential music collaboration.
The civil lawsuit Cassie filed last year against Diddy was settled in less than 24 hours for $20 million.
