Singer and reality TV star Tamar Braxton, 48, revealed on Tuesday that she was recently hospitalized following a frightening accident that she says almost killed her. In an emotional Instagram story, Braxton detailed the incident, which occurred on Sunday, August 17, explaining that a friend found her in a “pool of blood.”

“I struggled to write this but everyone keeps calling me and honestly, I can’t even really talk anymore I’m so weak,” Braxton wrote. “I almost died Sunday. I was found in a pool of blood from my friend with a face injury.”

The “Let Me Know” singer continued, listing a number of serious injuries she sustained, including a fractured nose and lost teeth. “As the days go by the worse it is,” she said. “I fractured my nose, lost some teeth and mobility.” She added, “The way I look at life now is totally different. As my health is on the mend my mental journey begins… pray for me for real… I don’t even know what happened to me.”

The incident comes as Braxton is in the midst of her ongoing tour, which she began earlier this year. In a March Instagram post, she vowed to prioritize her health and vocal performance, writing, “Bday is over so no more drinks…. No more carbs… all body and VOICE!!!”

Braxton recently returned to television with her sisters on the WEtv reality series, “The Braxtons,” which was filmed to honor their late sister, Traci Braxton, who passed away from esophageal cancer in 2022. The show has been renewed for a second season.

The family has remained close, frequently paying tribute to Traci. In April, Tamar shared a video of a crowd holding up their flashlights as Traci’s song “Last Call” played. “Happy Heavenly Birthday beautiful @therealtracibraxton,” she wrote. “We miss you down here sis!! But I know God didn’t want to see you sick like that so, he brought you home to himself to heal you.”
