Made In Chelsea star Miles Nazaire has come under fire from fans after announcing that he has rehomed his beloved dog, Rocky, due to the pressures of his growing career as a content creator and influencer.
The 29-year-old reality TV personality took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post explaining his decision. Accompanied by a montage of memories with Rocky, Miles addressed weeks of speculation, saying it was one of the hardest choices he’s ever made.
“I never imagined having to write a post like this,” he began. “Some parts of my life are deeply personal, and I’ve chosen not to share everything publicly—not out of secrecy, but out of care.”
He went on to say that Rocky has now been placed with a “perfect family,” adding: “He’s exactly where he needs to be.”
Despite his emotional message, the decision sparked outrage among followers. Many accused him of abandoning the animal simply because of lifestyle changes. One user wrote:
“I’ve moved countries and continents three times… and brought all my animals with me. Even though it was hard, expensive, or not convenient. Animals are like children—you don’t just give them up when you get too busy.”
Another, claiming to be a veterinarian, harshly criticized Miles:
“You took on the responsibility of getting a dog and then ditched him when he didn’t suit your lifestyle. Never get an animal again. You don’t deserve one.”
Miles anticipated the backlash, asking followers to show compassion:
“This was one of the most difficult choices I’ve ever had to make, and I made it with love… I kindly ask that any further assumptions, judgment, or unkindness be put to rest.”
Not all responses were negative. Some fans came to his defense, applauding the honesty behind his decision. One supporter commented:
“Letting go of someone or a pet you love—not because you stopped caring, but because they deserve more than you can give—is the most selfless kind of love there is. You didn’t fail them. You put them first.”
Alongside his role on Made In Chelsea, Miles has grown a substantial online presence. His YouTube channel offers fans insights into his life, fitness routines, and food experiences. He also reached the finals of Dancing On Ice, finishing second alongside professional skater Vanessa Bauer.
Though opinions remain divided, the situation has ignited a wider debate on pet ownership, personal responsibility, and the often unseen challenges of balancing public life with private realities.
