Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex-crimes trial intensified on June 12 as an ex-girlfriend, identified in court as “Jane,” provided emotional and graphic testimony describing alleged abuse, coercion, and violent altercations during their tumultuous relationship.
Returning to Manhattan federal court for further cross-examination, Jane recounted a disturbing 2024 incident in which she said Combs placed her in a chokehold after she confronted him with anger and accused him of inappropriate behavior. The fight reportedly escalated after she threw candles and insulted him, which allegedly prompted Combs to respond with physical violence, including kicking and choking.
Allegations of Coerced Sexual Encounters and Emotional Manipulation
In earlier testimony, Jane said she was pressured into sexual activities orchestrated by Combs, who she claimed used his influence and emotional power over her. When questioned about messages that appeared to show her consenting to participate in so-called “hotel nights” with sex workers, she told the court: “I was just adapting to my circumstances and the pressure from someone I loved. I didn’t feel like I could say no.”
Jane also expressed deep emotional conflict, saying she “resented him for all of it.”
Combs, 55, is facing federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.
Confrontation After Alleged Assault: ‘How Could You Go to Another Man’s Freak-Off?’
Defense attorney Teny Geragos questioned Jane about the events surrounding a violent encounter on June 18–19, 2024. Jane testified that after the physical altercation, Combs discovered texts between her and an adult entertainer named Anton. He allegedly forced her to take ecstasy and engage in sex acts with Anton against her will.
Jane said she was recovering at home with a black eye when Combs later confronted her about attending another rapper’s birthday party in Las Vegas. According to Jane, he angrily asked, “How could you go to another man’s freak-off?” She maintained that she simply attended the event with a friend and nothing happened.
Physical Fight and Accusations of Predatory Behavior
Jane further detailed a confrontation at her Los Angeles home. Upset over Combs allegedly involving a much younger woman in a family trip, Jane said she threw a glass and candles at him, calling him “disgusting” and a “pedophile.” Although the woman in question was not a minor, Jane expressed concern over the age gap.
The argument turned violent, according to Jane, when Combs allegedly kicked her and put her in a chokehold. As she tried to flee and lock herself in different rooms, Combs reportedly broke down the doors and continued to assault her, at one point punching her in the eye and kicking her while she was curled up in the backyard.
Tensions Over Children and Continuing Relationship
Jane testified that Combs accused her of trying to prevent him from seeing his children during their confrontation. Combs, a father of seven, reportedly continued to support Jane financially by paying for the home where the altercation occurred.
Private Jet Trips, Public Figures, and Party Incidents
The trial also delved into events surrounding a Las Vegas birthday party in January 2024, which Jane attended while she and Combs were on a break. She described flying on another rapper’s private jet and witnessing a sex act involving Anton and another woman in a hotel room with multiple onlookers.
Though defense attorneys wanted to name individuals who attended the party, the judge prohibited the disclosure of specific identities. The defense hinted that one attendee was a high-profile rapper and close associate of Combs.
Reaction to Cassie Ventura Fine Assault Video
Jane also spoke about her emotional reaction to a surveillance video, recently made public, that showed Combs physically assaulting his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura Fine in a hotel. Jane said she was shocked, claiming Combs had never acted violently toward her at that point. She admitted that despite public outrage, she stood by him at the time, hoping to support someone she viewed as “complicated.”
Shifts in Relationship After Cassie Lawsuit
Geragos highlighted changes in Combs’ behavior following Cassie Ventura Fine’s 2023 lawsuit against him, which accused him of prolonged abuse. Jane acknowledged that he became more attentive, affectionate, and consistent, even referring to her as his girlfriend rather than using terms like “single and polyamorous.” She said she felt she had gained more personal agency in their relationship post-lawsuit.
Mysterious Closed-Door Meeting and Delay in Testimony
Before Jane resumed testifying, court was delayed by a private meeting between the judge, attorneys, and Jane’s legal counsel. Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo cryptically referred to a “behind closed doors” event that occurred in a hotel room in January 2024, attended by “many others.” He implied the public may hold key information about the incident, but details remain unclear.
Escort Allegedly Threatened to Leak Sex Tape
Jane previously revealed that she and Combs watched pornographic content featuring sex worker Sly Williams, whom she later recruited for a “hotel night.” She testified that Williams later threatened to release a sex tape of their encounter unless she paid him. Combs allegedly urged her to contact the police, but she declined out of fear.
Yung Miami, Birthday Jealousy, and Alleged ‘Freak Off’
Jane expressed jealousy over Combs’ romantic involvement with rapper Yung Miami. She claimed Combs took Yung Miami on a luxurious Turks and Caicos vacation days after Jane was allegedly coerced into group sex on her birthday. “I was extremely heartbroken,” she said, describing her emotional pain as she watched him treat another woman to what she described as her “dream trip.”
Juror Controversy and Trial Drama
Meanwhile, prosecutors are seeking to dismiss a juror due to an alleged “lack of candor.” The motion, involving Juror No. 6, has sparked debate, with Combs’ team accusing prosecutors of racial bias in attempting to remove a Black juror. Both parties are expected to submit arguments in writing.
High-Profile Names and Media Misinformation
Despite viral online posts suggesting otherwise, celebrities like Eddie Murphy, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio have not been involved in the trial. Murphy has not testified, and neither have members of the Kardashian family. Though some A-listers were mentioned in context, only Cassie Ventura Fine and rapper Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi) have taken the stand.
Kid Cudi testified that Combs once broke into his home and locked his dog in a bathroom. He also accused Combs of orchestrating an explosion that destroyed his car.
Charges and Legal Context
Combs is accused of running a years-long criminal operation involving sex trafficking, racketeering under the RICO statute, and coercing individuals into sex acts using narcotics, intimidation, and manipulation. Prosecutors allege they possess video evidence of multi-day “freak offs” used to illustrate Combs’ pattern of behavior.
He has denied all charges and continues to fight the case with a seasoned legal team led by Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos.
