Mystery in New England: Human Remains Found Near Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island Home Amid Series of Unsettling Discoveries

Authorities in Rhode Island are investigating after human remains were discovered in the exclusive Watch Hill neighborhood — the same coastal enclave where pop star Taylor Swift owns a residence. The Westerly Police Department confirmed that what appeared to be a human leg bone was located near Everett Avenue around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14.

While the identity of the remains is still pending confirmation, police say no signs of foul play have been found so far.

This latest discovery comes amid a concerning pattern of human remains found across New England in recent months — prompting growing public anxiety and speculation. Similar incidents have occurred in:

  • Connecticut: New Haven, Norwalk, Groton, and Killingly

  • Rhode Island: Foster

  • Massachusetts: Framingham, Plymouth, and Springfield

Despite swirling online rumors suggesting a possible serial killer, authorities have firmly rejected the theory, clarifying that not all of the deaths are considered suspicious, and there is no current threat to public safety.

Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni addressed these concerns in April, following the death of Meggan Meredith, 45, whose body was found in Springfield. Gulluni urged the public to avoid spreading unverified speculation, stressing that such theories can disrupt ongoing investigations.

Still, social media has been flooded with amateur sleuths, many of whom believe the cluster of cases is more than coincidence. Online groups have emerged dedicated to connecting the dots between the deaths.

Here’s a timeline of some of the cases fueling the debate:

  • March 6: The body of Paige Fannon, 35, was recovered from the Norwalk River.

  • That same day, a human skull missing parts of the jaw and nasal cavity was discovered by hunters in Plymouth, MA.

  • March 19: In Groton, a woman’s body was found inside a suitcase near a cemetery. She was estimated to be 40 to 60 years old.

  • March 21: The decomposed body of 63-year-old Denise Leary was recovered in New Haven.

As investigations continue, law enforcement urges the public to remain calm, rely on verified information, and allow detectives the time and space to uncover the truth.
